In 1985, the sixth year since China’s opening-up policy, in Rui’an, Zhejiang Province, Mr. Yang Yijun, the founder of the company began development of the Thermoforming Blister Packaging Machine. Four years later, after working around the clock, China’s first platen sealing Thermoforming Blister Packaging Machine was launched by him and Jornen (former name: Jiangnan Pharmaceutical Machinery) was established. Like thousands of private enterprises set up at that time, the newly born Jornen experienced inferior facilities, a shortage of funds and the lack of modern technology. What they did have was unlimited enthusiasm and perseverance. During an exhibition in 1991, experts from Shanghai Sine Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd were quite surprised by the appearance of the homemade Thermoforming Blister Packaging Machine and purchased one from Jornen immediately. It was remarkable, in that time period, that a state-owned giant in the pharmaceutical industry in Shanghai was in favor of the equipment manufactured by a small private factory in Wenzhou. However, the miracle was just the beginning for Jornen. More and more pharmaceutical companies showed their interest in Jornen. By the end of 1990’s, after more than 10 years’ development, Jornen had become a leading enterprise in the pharmaceutical machinery industry, and was listed as one of the “Hi-tech Enterprises in Zhejiang Province.” For his remarkable achievements, Mr. Yang Yijun was appraised and elected as an “Excellent Entrepreneur in Zhejiang Province.”
In order to expand and further its development, Jornen began to build a new production base in Shanghai, and the entire operation moved there in 2003. Workshops were modernized, and equipped with high precision processing facilities such as mirror wire cutting, vertical and horizontal processing centers and digital CNC gantries, a superb ERP management system, and three-dimensional design software.
The tremendous enhancement in both hardware and software set the stage for Jornen’s future development. In 2004, Jornen’s sales revenue hit a record high of 100 million RMB yuan. In 2005, the first fully-servo-driven Thermoforming Blister Packaging Machine DPH190 was launched. In 2007, DPP260Ki attracted attention from western pharmaceutical machinery manufacturers when it was exhibited in Dusseldorf, Germany. In 2009, the Blister Production Line achieved a capacity of 180 cartons per minute and Shanghai Jornen was included as a “Hi-tech Enterprise in Shanghai” that same year. In 2011, the Thermoforming Blister Packing Machine achieved a speed of 200 punches every minute, resulting in the capacity of 800 blisters per minute, making it the fastest blister machine in China thus far. In 2012, the cartoner at 300 cartons per minute, was launched into market. Today, Jornen sells more than 300 packing machines of various kinds, annually, among which the sales of Thermoforming Blister Packaging Machines top the market worldwide. What makes us so fortunate in the market? Is it opportunity? Yes. There would be no Jornen without the radical changes of the great times. Is it the strength of passion? Yes. Is it the strength of innovation? Yes. The sixth generation of the Blister Machine has been created since we developed DPP260D series in 1996. By the end of the 90’s, we were in the position to manufacture the Pharmaceutical Blister Packaging and Cartoning Production Line. Today our equipment has been sold in more than 80 countries and regions around the world, and we have thousands of users at home and abroad.
